Artistic adventures continued...

It's not all about mittens though, oh no. We made bunnies too! Big, cuddly, crochet bunnies. Are they cute? Yes! But take a closer look. They're also a little bit sinister...

I think that the key to unlocking the meaning in this piece is contained within the title: 'She's Mine!' Go figure, really! Rabbits aren't always as cute and innocent as they seem...especially when there's adultery involved, and crochet hooks become weapons! Notice our very own Penny Tea is hanging out in the background. How can she be involved, hmmm? Whatever is going on, I think we can all agree: sometimes, crochet ain't so cute.

At this point, we'd like to say a huge mega thank you to everyone involved in the show! All of the artists did an amazing job. They're all so talented! It was brilliant to be able to have our stuff sitting next to such beautiful things. Especially as many of them were created by our dear friends. Awww! A big extra shout out is awarded to UAW CAT, erstwhile organiser and curator of the exhibition (and not to mention a most excellent friend). What a star! It is an awesome achievement, and I know that all of the artists were thrilled to be asked to take part. Joy! We'll post some pics and links to everyone elses stuff in a later post :)

FINAL THING!

We got reviewed by artinliverpool.com, and they said some lovely things about all of us. We got a special mention and two photos. Apparently "Penelope Teapot’s knitted things are clever and cute". Result! So thanks to those chaps for being so kind to us. Go look and see what they said!

EYEWASH EXHIBITION at CUC, Liverpool

Did I forget to mention that we are artists, too? I forget, because it has only happened recently. On Tuesday, a new exhibit opened at the CUC in Liverpool. It is called Eyewash Exhibition, and Penelope Teapot is lucky enough to be featured in it! We created two pieces, with a wooly/crafty related theme. Our first, entitled 'Hide and Seek', is an interactive installation. Basically, it's mittens! Each pair of mittens has a set of felt eyes and a mouth on them...so that when you put them together in front of your face, they create a super quick (and super cute!) disguise for you. And they keep your paws warm. Yeay! We had lots of fun trying them on with all of our friends.

While it's fun to wear matching mittens, it's also fun to mix it up! Fancy being a robot bear? A sad cat? A sweet transvestite? Go for it.

The mitts above are just a few of the many designs that we're showcasing in the exhibition! there are 10 in total, with more to come. How cute! Even more exciting, is that they will soon be available for purchase on this very site! Wow. We will offer a selection of the mitten styles featured in the exhibition...and we may well offer custom styles too! We're good like that, y'see. GO GO DISGUISE MITTENS!

Greetings from Penelope Teapot!

Hello, bonjour, guten tag, g'day, hola, hej, hei, namaste, ciao, konnichi wa, salvete, yo, yo, yo and all the rest of it. Welcome to Penelope Teapot!

Introductions are always a good place to start, so let's have a go at that. Here at Penelope Teapot, we love crafts. Like, reallyreally love them. So that's what we do! (It's probably a good idea to explain that 'we' are Bex and Sarah, the two little teapots that masquerade as Penelope during 'work time'. Hiya!) We mostly love to knit, crochet and sew, but we will give most things a go. Adventurous!

Very soon, we plan to have the site crammed chock full of all sorts of lovely crafty things for you good people to purchase if you'd like to. There will be clothes and shoes and hats and jewellery, bags and bows and lots of other accessories and random goodness galore (tea cozy or mini hot water bottle, anyone?) But that stuff isn't quite ready yet! Soon though, so do keep checking! It'll be worth it, promise.
But for now, it's just chatter.
