work work work

good morning everyone!
I've been slacking on the old blog posts lately!  working full time makes me tired.  all i want to do when i come home is have food and sleep.  one of my new year resolutions will be to make more effort though! Promise!!
I had Christmas day off, which was lovely, and this if my first day off since then!  so I'm spending the day watching Beauty and the Beast, eating snacks and making Dino Love Cross Stitch Kits!

It was my birthday a week before Christmas... I wont declare my age, but i feel SO SO SO old :(  I'm not happy about it.  i got some lovely things though, for both birthday and Christmas.  Here are some:

 New teapot!!!

Hanging owls!  there's actually four of them hanging on the string.  i just love how they look so angry!

My new cake bag!  i got most of my presents in this.  cute isn't it!?

Chocolate Bourbon keyring, from my brother.  even though it's little, this is one of my favourite presents!  as i cant eat most chocolate (due to the milk), finding out that cheap chocolate bourbons don't contain any diary made my year!  i eat an awful lot of them now!

Cute knitted turtle that my friend Cyran made for me!

Button trinket box!

cute mini cake candles.  they are so sweet!  they'd look beautiful all lit up, but then they'd be ruined after. should i? shouldn't i????

Cath Kidston pin cushion.

Roald Dahl biography, from mummy and daddy.  looking forward to reading this!

other things i got include: new boots, pj's and CAR INSURANCE! YESSSSSSSSS!!!!
Not having to get the bus everywhere is lovely, but petrol is so expensive!

tomorrow is the start of 2011.  this year has gone so fast.  a lot of people have been moaning about what a bad year it's been for them, but for me it's been alright!  Nothing majorly bad has happened, I got a new job, I've had a lovely time with my friends etc and had some great exhibitions and sales with Penelope Teapot! THANK YOU EVERYONE!  Next year will be even better!
I plan to move out, design new things to sell and hopefully go on a nice holiday somewhere.

i already have another blog post lined up... so keep watching!  and just a reminder that you can find me on facebook or follow me on tumblr (and this is my personal tumblr too).

happy new year everyone!

Red Head

I NO LONGER HAVE BLACK HAIR!!!!! YAAAAAAAAY!

I have nothing against black hair at all.  in fact, i love it.  but I'd had black hair for nearly 10 years, it was just time for a change!
it is now a sort of brown-ish-red.  i hope to get it brighter red soon.

I'd been wanting to get the black out for over a year now, but i fear bleach, plus no hair dresser would touch it as it had been dyed black for so so long.  but then, thanks to a boring Tuesday afternoon channel flicking, i found a product on the 'Ideal World' shopping channel that got hair dye out your hair without any bleach!
it came in the post, i was excited, i used it right away and YAY!  happy Sarah!

in other YAY news, i found this jumper that i thought I'd lost forever:

i cant eat ice cream... but i can wear it!

The sheep ordeal is over.  i shall never knit another sheep! here they are in some of the shops at Liverpool One (in Liverpool, obvs!):

Angel, at Build a Bear

Bauble, at John Lewis

Sheila, at Waterstones

Kevin, at Cath Kidston

Frank, at The Entertainer

And here's some of them together:

If you would like to knit a sheep, you can find the pattern on the pattern page.

here's a pair of knitted knickers i found online.... i thought I'd share the joy!

over and out! xx

KNITTED SHEEP!

KNITTED SHEEP:  RAVELRY LINK

MATERIALS:
Cream or White yarn for body and head.
Black or Grey yarn for legs and face.
I used 3 strands of aran yarn and 9mm needles, this makes a BIG sheep.  for a medium sized sheep I would use 6mm needles and 2 strands.  for a small sheep, 4mm needles and 1 strand.

You will also need toy stuffing and a darning needle

BODY: (all in garter stitch)
Co 15. (this is the rear end of the sheep)
Garter stitch for 2 rows.
Increase in every stitch. (30 sts)
Knit one row.
Increase one every 5 stitches. (36sts)
Work in garter stitch for 25 rows.
Knit two together to end.
Cast off.

HEAD:
Co 20.
K 4 rows.
Increase into every stitch. (40sts)
K 4 rows.
Change to black/grey wool. Purl one row.
*K2, k2tog* to end.
Purl
*k1, k2tog* to end.
Purl
*k2tog*
Thread yarn through remaining stitches.

LEGS: (make 4)
In black
CO 10.
Work 6 rows in stocking stitch.
*k2tog* to end.
Thread yarn through remaining stitches.

EARS: (make 2)
In black
CO 4.

Sew and stuff the body of the sheep.  sew up the side of the head, leaving open the top.  stuff and sew the head straight on to the body.  do the same with the legs, then sew on the ears and stitch on a cute face!  you could use buttons/felt for the eyes if you don't have any stick on eyes.

i made a small pompom for the tail, but this is optional! create what ever kind of tail you like!

enjoy!!!!!
