Fame again!

Can someone explain to me why (and how) the March issue of Simply Knitting Magazine is out in JANUARY??  Madness!

....But good, because I'm in it! YAAAAAAY!

Me on the index page :)

Me with the big ball of wool, and then again underneath with the knitting group.
My arms and hands look MASSIVE!  like in that Supergrass video.

However, the article is not about me.  It's about Purlesque, the knitting shop I used to work in and they also run the knitting group I attend. It's about all the work in the community they do, and how they teach kids and teenagers to finger-knit.  It's quite a good read.  You should check it out.

In non-knitting news, this is my dog, Tammy.  (One of my dogs, I have two.  She's waiting for Rob to come round, that's his skate board. But I like to think that SHE'S waiting to go out for a skate.  Wouldn't that be cute!?  Gosh, my room is a tip.

fame! (in March)

So, here's the news....
I'M IN A MAGAZINE!! YAAAAAAAAY!
well, it's the March issue, which I think comes out in February (right?).  So keep you eye out for me in 'Cross Stitch Crazy':

The Cross Stitch Crazy people have been kind enough to send me a copy of the issue before it's even out (thanks guys!) and I'm on page 21:

It's only a small article, but it features my Owl Cross Stitch kit that i sell on Folksy.  I'm a happy chappy about it!  It compares my kit to another owl kit, by the DMC brand (quite a major cross stitch brand), and mind is cheaper.... and maybe even cuter?  But it's nice to have a small business like mine put next to a big major brand, so thank you Cross Stitch Crazy people!  :)

Brrrrrr!

I've been meaning to update my blog for over two weeks now!  I'm sitting here in my pj's, a hoody, hat and slippers trying to keep warm.  Brrrrrr!  I can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer.

Now then, a couple of people have kindly sent me photo's of their finished cross stitch kits :)  why don't more of you email me?  I love seeing what you've used them for and how you put your own twist on them!

Mel (link to her flickr here)  purchased the cupcake kit.  here's what she did with it:

A cute cross stitch purse! I love how the purse even has a little tiny cake attached to the zip!  And....

A lovely card for her friend.

And Sam (click here for her tumblr page)  finished the Dino Love cross stitch:

Very cute!  I love seeing people's finished kits!

I'd love to see more though, email me pics at penelopeteapot@hotmail.com

I haven't posted any of my own knitting for AGES!  To be honest, I feel like I've hardly had proper knitting time!  But I'm working on a tea cozy for one of my volunteers at work:

It's a pretty basic pattern, so it's easy enough to just pick up now and then.  The panda head you can see, is actually a tape measure!  His can be pulled out into the tape measure... he's pretty much perfect!

Sooooo.... I don't have a lot of news or gossip!  I've been working a lot, but I've booked some time off (week after next) so hopefully I'll do some fun stuff then!
Last Sunday at work, was one of the most boring days of my life.
Two big football matches + bad weather = quiet shop!
I'd predicted to quietness, so made sure I had plenty of snacks to keep me alive. Latest obsessions are Ginger Ale and Twinings Lemon and Ginger! yum yum in my tum tum!

Oh!  And I found a really cute book about an old lady who knits:

It's about an old lady who's knitted things come to life!  It's lovely!

I went on a date to a cute little cafe a couple of days ago.  They sold loads of home made jams etc.  I saw this banana curd and thought 'YESSSS! This will be like having banana on toast all the time.'

Verdict.... NOT LIKE BANANA ON TOAST!  It's very strange actually.  Not very banana-ish. I was so excited about it too!  Never mind, I'm sure i'll find something new to put on toast.

The only other thing I have to report, is that I have a new friend.  His name is Henry, and he is a Heron:

We see him most days, sitting on the roof of the house behind ours.  He's after the fish in the big pond they have.  Henry is MASSIVE.  I remember seeing a heron once when I was a child, and having nightmares about it... thank god I've grown out of that now.

Here are some cute things I've found online over the last couple of weeks:

BIG ICECREAM!!

This would give MAJOR brain freeze, but i want it.  Here is the folksy page for Sweet Suzy! She does some other pretty brilliant stuff:

And last but not least.....

AHHH! PETER RABBIT SKIRT!
this is so sweet.  I would love to own this.  She makes very cute things too! Her folksy page is deffo worth a look.  Click here.

Right.  That's all for now.  I'm going to make a cup of tea.  I have news in my next blog post though! EXCITEMENT!!!!!

DINO'S ARE BACK!

Sadly, Dinosaurs are not back from the dead (imagine zombie Dino's.... not good!)
BUT, they are back in cross stitch form!

The Dino Love kits include everything you need to get creative!  the fabric, threads, needle and instructions.  the end product is about 4" x 4" and it's great for beginners too!  All designed and put together by myself, and all for a bargain price!
They've sold out many times now, so get your paws on them while you can!

These two treats are the latest additions to my bedroom:

new mug from Cath Kidston, which was a gift from my brother's mother in-law, and the owl is a money box, a birthday present from two lovely friends of mine (Craig and Claire).
I'm going to use the owl as a saving box for a trip away somewhere.
Any spare change? STRAIGHT INTO THE OWL!

It's very rare that i buy new footwear.  In fact i hardly own ANY shoes at all. BUT, I've got two new pairs of boots! YAY!

The brown ones were a birthday present from the boyfriend.  They're so comfy and they're great for driving in.  Then i saw the purple ones in the sale, HAD TO OWN!  They're Rocket dogs, and at some point I'm going to get the black ones too! Why not!?

LOOK HOW CUTE I LOOK!  (That's me doing my fox face)
Last year, my friend Jane who works at Purlesque, made me a fox hood/bonnet.  It's so cute and warm.  and then this year for my birthday, she made me some matching mittens! I was VERY pleased!
They sell the bonnets and mittens in their shop at the Bluecoat in Liverpool.

Spotted this jumper online the other day, i want it!

It reminds me that i also need to get new glasses.  I've had these ones for three years now. Time for a change.

Did i post this last week when it was snowing? sorry if i did.  Penelope Teapot made out of snow:
