EASTER

helloooooooooooooooooo!  And happy (late) Easter!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend and ate loads of yummies!  I got some nice dairy free Easter eggs, so I was a happy chappy.

Cross stitch Easter eggs anyone?

I finally got round to taking some snaps of things I said I would like a month ago!
I still haven't worn these out, but I think i might today.  My kitty leggings:

Kitty Leggings from Boohoo

I got these a while ago (think I got the last pair) from BooHoo.  I'd read a review saying the quality is pretty poor... and it was right.  There's threads hanging off everywhere and I feel like I'm going to bust them just getting my feet in and out.  BUT, let's face it, they're cute.  So I will put up with the shoddy threads and maybe wear them out shopping today!

SHODDY!

I also purchased this River Island dress from a charity shop.

It didn't come with the belt, so I've put my own apple belt with it.

Belt from H&M years ago!

I don't often wear this much colour, but I thought 'why the hell not?'  It's a very cute day dress that I can wear for work and to wear out.  I only noticed today that it's a ruddy size 6!!! I have no idea how I've got into it really.  I bet I rip it!

I have a major lack of summer tops to wear (I'm usually all about knitwear) so I've picked up a couple of cute things lately:

Oasis top via charity shop

Another charity shop bargain!  Originally from Oasis.  I don't usually wear yellow, I find it clashes with my yellow skin tone, but this is too pretty to ignore.  Plus, I thought it was rather 70's looking, and I love the colours from that time: browns, yellows and oranges.  I wish I was growing up then (but then I'd be old now.... so maybe not!)

Owl summer top from Vampire Bunnies

I got this top WEEKS ago from the Vampire Bunnies boutique in Manchester's Afflecks Palace.  It's all hand made and everything is very cute.  If it wasn't for lack of cash, I would have got a number of cardigans from there too!  HERE is their facebook page with loads of good photo's.

In creative news, I've nearly finished the Drop Dead kitty (pattern available in previous blog post).

Drop Dead Kitty

It's for Ruby's birthday (which is on Saturday) so it'll be finished in time.
I've been spending a lot of my free creative time helping my mums church make a couple of new banners.  I'm not religious at all, just helping out.  So that explains why I don't have a lot to show for myself lately :(
We're incorporating a lot of different crafts into the banners (knit, crochet, felt, embroidery etc) so it's taking rather a long time.  I'll post pics when they're done.

I got a new teapot this week (YAY!)  My friends Jane and Susan got me this:

AMAZING teapot

I've never seen a carousel horse teapot before.  It's actually my best teapot so far!  THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!

Another little cute thing I got... a doggy candle! lol

DOGGY CANDLE!

I had some lovely days off last week... and went on THREE picnics.  The weather has gone a bit chilly again now, but hopefully it'll be sunny again for more fun picnic times:

Little dog Benny came too :)

SUMMER!!!!

SUMMER IS HERE!  WOOOO!
I'm one of those annoying people who wants it to be winter when it's summer, and summer when it's winter.  BUT, I'm actually very glad to be warm for once.
I had two days off work mid-week, I picnic'd both days!  Lucky me!  I caught up with my friend Caroline, who was visiting Liverpool for the day, went to the pictures and picnic'd in the park.

Here are some pictures of me in the park with the bf's little sister Ruby:

Ruby and I baking ourselves

Us veggies had corn on the cob. yum yum!

Daisy chains a plenty!

I've half finished a big blog post, but need to add photo's etc, so I'm saving it for an evening with more free time.  I have a new phone to get used to (it has the Internet on, how modern and trendy am I?), cross stitch to be doing and three Disney films to watch.  I went a bit mad on PLAY.com and got 3 Disney's: Alice in Wonderland (cartoon version), Princess and the Frog (as I've NEVER seen it) and a really old one I've also never seen.... 'Icahbod and Mr Toad.'

I'm also working the bank holidays this month.  I actually don't mind doing it.  I'm not religious and I get to take the days off whenever i want, which is pretty good.

Looking forward to getting paid this month.  I've found a couple of sites (that I bet are really popular, I've only just found them) that I'm tempted to get stuff from:

Brat and Suzie do really very very cute t-shirts and vest tops.  This horsey T is one of many I love.

Brilliant horse tshirt

And Kid Robot has some pretty cute toys etc.  Worth a look me thinks!

Cute pillow

It's Ruby's birthday next week (Robi's little sister) and she really loves that brand 'Drop Dead.'  They have this zombie kitty thing as one of their designs so I'm doing her a cross stitch of it!  Here's the pattern if anyone's interested!  Use it if you wish:

Right, I'm off to watch a crap load of Disney :)
Bigger and better post next time.

Oh, here is a pic of me messing round at work with my new phone.  Chilling out in my teacup.

Twisted Tales

Hello all!
Business first!  Thank you very much to those who purchased my owl cross stitch kits last week!  They sold out in one day.  That's never happened before :)  I'll be making more very soon!
In other news:
I went to see Roald Dahl's Twisted Tales this week, at the Playhouse in Liverpool.  It was brilliant!
I've always loved Roald Dahl since I was tiny (I wanted to BE Matilda).
He also did more grown up stories, which is what this play was.  6 short stories that are a bit weird!  I totally recommend seeing it.

Roald Dahl's Twisted Tales. Review here.

I got myself a little bargain to wear to the play, yay me!

Topshop dress

This little Topshop dress came in to my shop (I work in a charity shop) a few days ago.  It'd been looking at me for two whole days before I gave in and tried it on.   It fitted perfectly, so I had to buy it.  I looked it up just now, trying to find a picture of it so I didn't have to put it on and take a photo (I'm already in my pj's) and it was originally £55!  I got it for less than a tenner, so pretty chuffed.  The things people give away!  I also got a River Island dress, a more casual day dress, that I cant find anywhere online, so I'll take a pic for next time!

I have been very loved this week.  I GOT PRESENTS!!!
My boyfriend, Rob, got me a very cute little teapot (on the right) and my lovely knitting friend Jane got me the cute teapot on the left!

CUTE TEAPOTS!

Two teapots in one week?! BRILLIANT!
But that's not all.  A lovely volunteer at work got me this very cute, mint green, Hello Kitty.

Hello green Kitty!

So I've had a lovely week of gifts, which I wasn't expecting, a lovely outing to a play and last week it was WRESTLEMANIA!

I don't know if I've ever expressed my love for wrestling.  Some may find it sad or pathetic, but it really is something I've loved since I was little.  My older brother started watching it, and I just got into it that way.  So I HAVE to watch WWE's Wrestlemania every year, without fail.  This year we went to my friend Chris's house

I don't have much on this week, apart from work.  So I might have time for some more interesting blog posts, and to get some things made to sell!  Fingers crossed anyway.  But right now it's time to get ready for bed (work in the morning) and watch some Karl Pilkington - Idiot Abroad.  I've watched a couple of episodes, it's so funny!

night night xx

toms toms toms!

Just a quick mention to start with.... I've stocked up on Cupcake Cross stitch kits on Folksy.  CLICK HERE TO SEE.

Cupcake Cross stitch kit.

So!  My toms shoes came in the post this week.  They are SO comfy.  I got the black vegan ones (many MANY other colours available).  For those of you who don't know, Toms give a pair of shoes to a child in need, for every pair sold, so it's a pretty good deal!  I can see my self wearing these so much in the summer, and they're great for work too!

My vegan toms shoes!

I've been trying to cut down on buying clothes, and just getting things that I actually NEED (in all seriousness, I really DID need some shoes),  but this cute rabbit top was too cute to pass on.

H&M bunny top

Isn't it sweet!? and not too much money too.  Thank you H&M.

I invested in some new primer this week. I'd heard great things about 17's new primer (from Boots), and only £4.99.  It actually is quite good, I'm pleased with it.  Two pea sized bits pretty much cover my whole face, so considering the tube is tiny, it should last a while.

17 Primer

I discovered a new product whilst trekking round Boots.  'Naked.'  It's all natural and animal friendly (the best kind of product).  I'd been meaning to buy hair spray for ages, but I really dislike the smell of it, I hate breathing in things like that.  My hair often goes static at work, due to the heaters and touching polyester clothes all day.  Is this hair spray the answer?  Time will tell.  I've tried it once so far, but i think i held it too close to my head.  It seems very liquidy, but I'll try again.

Naked hair spray

Totoro embroidery

As you can see, my embroidery is taking a LONG time.  I will work on some tonight I think, and maybe do some on my lunch break in work tomorrow.  FYI, I will be blending the shadow a bit more into the non-shadow.
Speaking of totoro, how cute is this totoro tshirt I found on Tumblr:

Overly cute t-shirt

WHERE CAN I GET ONE??  SOMEONE TELL ME!

Manic PANIC!

So I re-dyed the green bit in my hair... woopsie!  Totally forgot to wear gloves!  ha ha ha.  I was so worried this would stain my hand for days, but just a day later i was back to normal.  Thank God for semi-permanents!  Time to add some blue next I think.

In knitting news, I'm going to start one of these next week (not sure which one yet, probably the owl first):

Skull cushion from Let's Knit mag

Owl from Let's Knit mag

I find the owl a bit funny looking.  It's like he's got a mask on!  So I'd have to change that, but i think the frills are really cute.
In other (and probably not very interesting) news, I ordered these cute kitty leggings from boohoo.com

Kitty leggings!

I'm very excited to get them.  They only had one review, and it wasn't good :( so I hope mine are ok.  They only cost a fiver, and they'd sold out when I looked at them again later that day.  Glad i got them in time.

Final thoughts.... Here is a picture of my Pirates of the Caribbean transfer I put on at work...
and a cutie photo of my doggy!

Now I'm off to bake some vegan brownies to take to my friend Chris's house on Sunday night.  Me and Rob are going round to watch Wrestlemania (yes... i LOVE wrestling) at midnight.
Over and out. xxx
