Lovecraft!

HELLO!   Just going to start with an obvious plugging for my boyfriends band (he's the drummer).  Their album is out today on Amazon, HMV, Play.com and itunes (and other the other obvious music places/sites).  Their album launch was on Friday night and was pretty brilliant!  Anywho, they're called LOVECRAFT and this is them (and that's their first video underneath)......

Lovecraft

As promised in my last blog post, here is the template/pattern for the felt pansies I've been making, plus the original sketch and the finished flowers:

Finished :)

So, I've had some pretty good charity shop finds this last week....

BRET!!!

Oh Bret.  My favourite wrestler when i was little.  I was actually looking online just last week at this book, but i got it super cheap in a charity shop instead! yay! Am i the only one who actually keeps all my books?  i thought maybe someone threw it out because it's not very good... I'll let you know!

I found these fabrics too.  I don't know for sure that they're vintage, so i wont claim they are, but they do look it!  I'm going to get hair bow making with them!

''Vintage(?)'' fabrics

I came across this rather LARGE sweatshirt....
There's a couple of my dresses behind it there, so you can see just how big it is!

Massive!
Here's the heart print close up:

I don't exactly know what to do with this jumper/sweater.  But I'm sure I'll think of something!  It was too fantastic to leave behind.

In non-charity shop purchases..... THESE TIGHTS!  (NOTE: these are not my legs!)

I pretty much love anything heart print (as if you hadn't noticed before now).  I think it's the most money I've ever spent on just one pair of tights!

Check out these beauties!!!

M&S kids!

How cute are these???  I found them by accident in the kids section of Marks and Spencer.  Reduced to SEVEN POUND!  I often visit the M&S kids section, I've found a couple of brilliant cardigans there before, but this is my first pair of shoes.  My mum (who i was shopping with) thought I'd had some sort of mental break down and reverted to my childhood (she really doesn't get how i love cute things) as i had an almost identical pair when i was 8.  I've got some lilac shoe laces on eBay that will be perrrrrfect!

Pansies and Coffee

I'm taking a break from gutting out my bedroom.  I have no idea how I accumulate so much stuff into a small space.  When I had my own place, I kept it all so tidy and clean (some wouldn't believe that, but I did!) but now, back at my parents (depressing) I just make such a mess so quickly.

So yeh, I'm clearing my tables, giving them a good scrub, so I can get crafting!  I've had so many idea's lately, and not enough time to actually give them a go.  So hopefully now I have the space, I can do bits here and there when I can.  That's the plan anyway.

Last night I made a couple of these felt Pansy flowers:

Pansies

They're for that banner I'm making for the flower festival.  I'm not 100% liking the colours, so I'll see what people think about it at the meeting tonight.  I'll put up the templates I made for it though, so you can create your own felt garden.

So this Friday coming is my boyfriends album launch.  RATHER EXCITED!  I popped along to Tesco this morning to try and find this dress, I thought it would be nice (but still nice and cheap) to wear for the gig.....

Tesco Dress
They didn't have it :( boo hoo.  Ah well, I'm sure I've got something suitable.  Tell you what I DID find in Tesco though.... SOYA MILK DESIGNED FOR COFFEE!

I've never been a big coffee drinker, but now and then when I smell other people's coffee, I'd love one!  Normal soya (and rice milk, and other types of alternative milk) curdles with coffee, so I'll be testing this one out this evening! YAY!

I thought these trainers might be a nice pay-day treat for myself:

Cute Adidas

I really love ice cream colours.  I miss my trainers from last summer, they ended up rubbing away at the back, and so giving me blisters, but they were the cutest trainers I've ever had and I still haven't found a good enough replacement.

Last year's
In other shoe news, I came across this ballet pump bow tutorial...

Bow tutorial
Aren't they sweet!?  The loop in the middle is glued down, so you can change the bow each day to suit your outfit.  GENIUS!

Now, just before I get back to my cleaning..... how good do these food stuffs look???

Alton Towers and other things.

Is it ever too early to start knitting for winter?  I didn't think so.
I've started to knit myself a new hat for winter.  But to be honest i wear hats all year round!
I found this hat on Ravelry and started knitting:

So far it looks like this (knitted in some old Rowan wool I've had for about 4 years!):

The colours aren't overly clear (badly need to buy a new camera!  Mine is over 5 years old now) but it's a dark brown with a bit of a purple tinge to it and I've put a stripe of light yellow with it, the wool I used for my pencil scarf.  I hope it doesn't turn out too tight, I like them so slouchy that I can hardly tell it's on my head.

Yesterday (Friday) I went to ALTON TOWERS!!!!
It was seriously the best day I've had in so long.  We got up early for it, which was worth it in the end as we went on SO many rides!  I drove there, my first long (ish) distance drive since I got my little car.  Thank god for sat-nav's!  Anyway, here are some pics:

When me and Rob met Sonic

The whole day was pretty awesome.  Hardly any queues and only a little bit of rain at the end.  Didn't get home till nearly 9pm, then after a couple of crumpets for tea it was time to go out again.

I went into town to see a band called 'Organ Freeman' (facebook page here).
They are pretty brilliant and so funny to watch.  I've never seen a bad as entertaining as them.  This is them, but I did not take these photo's.  HERE is the page for the photographer.

I'm deffo going to get one of their t-shirts!
IT WAS A BOSS SHOW! GO AND SEE THEM!

After the eventful day... I fell asleep as soon as I got home:

Me catching some Z's

New purchase alert!  Zelda manga anyone?  How did I not know this existed? It was buy 2 get 1 free so I got the first two and then got something I'd never heard of, but it looked cute.

Zelda Ocarina of Time
NEWBY!
I'm very excited that FOREVER 21 have announced that they are opening a store in Liverpool.  I always loved the clothes on their site, and the store is going to be HUGE!  Canny wait!

I don't have much other news.  I have a pretty big week ahead at work but I will still no doubt be updating my TUMBLR, TWITTER and FACEBOOK so go and follow me on those! GO GO GO!

THESE ROSES WILL NOT DIE

It's been quite a long time since I've put up any sort of knitting pattern hasn't it!?  SORRY!  This one isn't much, but it's what I've been knitting for the past couple of weeks.  Loads of little pink roses:

GARTER STITCH ROSE PATTERN:

I used a DK yarn and 3.75mm needles

For a bigger rose, use thicker yarn and bigger needles.

The rose worked all in knit stitch.  I did try it with stocking stitch but it just wasn't right.

CO 50

Knit 9 rows

K2tog to end of row
K row

K row

Cut yarn leaving the remaining stitches on the needle.
Using a darning needle, thread the yarn through the remaining stitches.
Twist the piece round to form the rose shape and a couple of stitches should keep it all in place.

Then it's totally up to you what you want to do with the pretty little rose.
Put it on a hair clip?
Use as a brooch?
Decorate a cardigan?

For added detail (though i haven't tried this yet myself) you could cast on in a different colour.  so the edging of the rose will stand out.

Enjoy the pattern guys!  Do what ever you want with it.

In other making things, I finished the Dead Kitty cross stitch:

Drop Dead Cross stitch

I've started knitting a hat (I know winter is ages away, but I always wear hats) and I'm thinking of starting a cardigan too.  Possibly this one:

Oh, another new teapot for me :)  Introducing Mr Trunks:

CUUUUTE!

And I've got my eye on these leggings.  I couldn't see them when I popped into River Island the other day :( maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
