Wednesday wantings (24)

Wednesday wantings: 24

  1. Fairisle cardigan
  2. Heart print jumpers
  3. Velveteen rabbit brooch
  4. Rabbit sweatshirt
  5. Polka-dot body

Well, Christmas is nearly here... but not before my birthday!  I think my mum is buying me the fairisle cardigan (no.1) for my birthday.  Not that I need ANOTHER cardigan, but I just love it.

I know a lot of people hate bodies, body suits or onesies (as my boyfriend likes to call them), but I think they're great.  They keep me warm (I love my layers) and they're perfect to just throw a t-shirt over... plus they keep me all sucked in/tucked in.  ANYWAY, this one (no. 5) is quite nice, long sleeves will keep me even warmer!

Sorry in advance

Just in case you think I've vanished.... I haven't.

I've taken the next week off work.  I've also purchased ZELDA SKYWARD SWORD!

Zelda will take over my life while I'm off, so don't worry about me.

My brother got me in to Zelda years ago, and I've been hooked ever since.  I hope not to neglect my crafts too much this week, but we'll see how it goes.

Wednesday Wantings (23)

Wednesday wantings (23)

  1. Ahoy sailor jumper
  2. Sesame street mittens
  3. Knitted skirt
  4. Tea time hooks

I've had a skirt similar to no.3 before, but I washed it wrong and it went all weird.  It wasn't quite as bright as this one, but I think I can pull this one off too.  I might get it as a selfish xmas treat for myself!

I am a sucker for anything sailor themed.  This is the kind of jumper (no.1) that I have to see in real life before I make a decision or not.  The Sesame St mittens are so funny.  Oscar the Grouch was my favourite, I think because he was a grump... like me!

Wednesday wantings (22)

Wednesday watings: 22

  1. Snail brooch
  2. Knitted T-shirt
  3. Knitted leggings
  4. Ladybird cardigan
  5. The green bag.

I have never been a handbag kind of gal.... but I actually really need a proper handbag.  This green (no.5) one is nice, non-leather (I wont buy leather) but it's 55 quid.  That's probably not even a lot for a bag, but it is to me!

Love the snail brooch! Well done Topshop.  The others explain themselves really: cute and knitting related!
I don't have a lot to say today, as I'm dying to watch this weeks WWE Raw.  My friends are in the audience so I want to try and find them!

Teapots, knitting and keeping warm!

I have added a couple of things to my 'teapots and other things' collection.  I am mainly a collector of cute and weird teapots, but I'll collect pretty much anything cute/owl/small animal related.

Kitty cat teapot
For those who have not read my blog before, I also have this exact teapot in a blue/green colour.  The more the merrier though!

This little mouse is a fake teapot!  She has a handle and a spout, but the spout is filled in.  Even though she is a fake, I love her.  She reminds me of the 'sylvanian family' I played with when i was little.

Mousey

My new owl.... Helga.

Helga

I found Helga in a charity shop in Frodsham, I HAD to own her.  Turns out she is a vintage Sallie Robinson pot pourri owl.  I have been looking for it on the Internet, and I cant find one exactly the same.  That means she's special :)  As a migraine sufferer, I wont be using it for smelly things, but just a pretty thing to own.

This cardigan I'm knitting is going to take a long time.  If only I could give up work and knit full time.  The pattern isn't hard, but each row is different so you have to follow it quite closely.  I'm used to watching TV at the same time but I need more concentration for this.  Here it is so far anyway:

Aran cardigan
Cable close up

A lovely customer at work, my favourite customer actually, got me a little present the other day.  She noticed how I'm always cold, no matter how many layers I wear, so she got me these little hand warmers to keep in my pockets.  How sweet!  They're those ones that have the little copper disk inside that you click and the whole thing heats up and goes solid.  There's clever science behind it no doubt, but I call it magic.

Cute hand warmers
I'm reading this book at the moment (another charity shop purchase):

I went to see a play earlier this year (the best play ever) based on some of these stories, 6 or 7 of them I think.  So many short stories in this book that are very entertaining, weird and a bit creepy, I love it!

Has anyone been watching Kirsty Allsopp's craft programme?  I was chuffed to see Mr X Stitch on the latest episode.  I follow his blog and his twitter and I think he's brilliant.  For those who don't know, in the show Kirsty takes up a new craft and enters a piece in a village fate/competition.  To be honest, I've been shocked when she's actually won a couple of prizes (and just as shocked when I see what a sore loser she is!).  It's all meant to be anonymous but I just cant see how she's won some of them.  A burnt cake won best in show.... HOW?

Wednesday Wantings (21)

Wednesday wantings: 21

  1. Elephant jumper
  2. Bird necklace
  3. Dotty jacket
  4. Cupcake hat
  5. Dino t-shirt

First of all, I know it's Thursday and not Wednesday... but I forgot to post this yesterday.
I did an awful thing the other day and purchased a knitted hat.  I am more than capable of knitting my own, but I gave in to temptation on a cold day.  How cute is this cupcake hat (no. 4)?  I can see myself in that!

Yet another great t-shirt from tea and cake at topshop (no. 5) but stop making your neck's so tight!!  I can't cope with the tightness!
