I have been somewhat creative lately!
Thought I'd show ya'll some bits I've been doing.  I started this blanket LAST SUMMER! (Shame on me!) But I have now very nearly finished.  I'd started this gorgeous edging (if I do say so myself) and had a whole ball of yarn to do it with.  Turns out it wasn't enough to go round.  Boo hoo!  It only just made it round two sides.  I've since pulled it back and I'm now waiting for the perfect yarn to jump out at me for it.  But I'm using it on my bed without the edging anyway.

I really liked the fact that it kept me so warm whiles making too.  I will have to make one every winter, purely for heat.

This month I've had a crack at knitting my own socks for the first time ever.  EEP!
I'm so glad I've tried it.  I've never felt comfortable using double - pointed needles when knitting.  They're just not for me.  I find I get a ladder on the joins, and I have no idea why.  I will have another go using them one day though, but for now I've found a better way for knitting socks.  TWO CIRCULAR NEEDLES!  Yes, this is the way forward!

Here is a video tutorial I used, if you feel like having a go.....

Here is my sock progress at the moment.  I used 'Opal Smokey Eyes and Lips' yarn, on 2.5mm needles.

I'm such a tight knitter, if I knit them again I'm going to go up a needle size I think.  I really love the colours though.  I'm using a free pattern called 'Harris Tweed.'  CLICK HERE for ravelry link.
I really like that a project like this can easily fit in your bag and it's no hassle at all taking it anywhere.  I haven't got to the heel yet, but I'll be sure to post how I get on with that.

In other knitting news, I've started a mammoth task!  I'm sure most of you will remember, or at least be aware, of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Yes?  Well I'm making cushions.  Four cushions.  I'm not that far in yet, but I'm enjoying it!  I really like a bit of colour work in knitting, keeps it interesting.
Here I am knitting.  I've made many changes to the pattern I'm working from.  And I'm going to over stitch outlines etc.

I've also got this little fellow to knit at some point.  He came free with 'Let's Knit' magazine.  Which usually I cant stand but I got purely for Sidney.

Embroidery news:
A couple of posts ago I showed you another magazine freebie.  I thought I'd show off my finished keyring from Cross Stitcher magazine.

I found this embroidery kit in a charity shop.....
It's not my style, but I got it just because it's by someone called 'Penelope!'  I'm not the first Penelope kit maker like I thought I was.  *sad face*
