What to do when friends of mine get married? They've already set up home, got everything they need etc....
Their own wedding cross stitch of course!
This is quite a traditional thing to do I suppose. My parents and my grandparents (and so on) all have a hand stitched, framed piece with their names and the date of the wedding. So I thought it'd be a nice thing to do for a fellow craft lover.
Cross stitch always takes longer than I think, and it was soooo hard keeping it a secret. I'm usually posting my creations on Instagram (@penelopeteapot) constantly!
I tend to do the whole piece stitching in one direction first. This way I don't have to look at the pattern for quite as long. Once I've done it all one way, I can do the opposite way with less stress!
I enjoyed stitching this. It's always nice to make something for someones wedding I think. It means so much more.
I am now open to make these (or similar) on commission. If you'd like me to make one for your wedding/friends wedding/birth or Christening etc then drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org I can change designs/colours to meet your needs.
