I think I'm actually going to invest in the biscuit blouse. I can't think of anything more 'me!'

I'm sorry AGAIN for my lack of blogging. I've had food poisoning (how on earth does a vegan get food poisoning really?) And a major work load. But i have loads of exciting idea's and blog posts that are half finished.... so stay tuned! SORRY AGAIN!!!

I have been absent for a while.... forgive me?
My life has been all over the place, but I'm all happy again now and ready to get back into blogging.
So, I'm going to a wedding in June (seems ages away but it'll come round quick!) and I've been searching for a dress. The day I decide that I've found the one (No.1) ..... OUT OF STOCK! AARGH! Annoyance! May the search continue.

A Spot of Knitting

I haven't done a knitting update for a really long time. Here's what I've got on my needles at the moment:

I'm currently working on an art project focusing on the combination of knitting and painting. All the pieces will be painted, but will feature knitting (and some sewing) that I'll be doing. I don't want to give too much away just yet.... you'll see soon.

I'm hoping after I block the knitting I've done so far, it'll become flatter. I'm such a tight knitter!

Anyway, what else have I been doing? BAKING!

I LOVE pop tarts, but I cant eat them as they have beef gelatin in (apparently in America they don't, but they do here... annoying), so I plod on and make my own!

I found these cute little silicone cupcake cup things in the pound shop in town, I got the last 2 boxes!!! (2 in each box) I was very happy. I must try them out soon.

I also purchased Arrietty on DVD. For those who don't know, I love Studio Ghibli films and Arrietty is the latest. I went to see it last year in the cinema (the subtitled version) and love it. I recommend it to everyone!

I haven't worn this yet, but I got a new blouse from 'Ever Ours'. It's very sweet. I saw it online and got it straight away to cheer myself up after a totally rubbish day. I loved how they wrapped it up like a present:

I got new glasses last month, I don't think I ever got round to showing you guys! I love them, I wish I was around in the 50's/60's: (they're from www.glassesdirect.co.uk)

It's nearly Wrestlemania.... I get very excited over it. I've even booked the day after off work so I can stay up VERY late and watch it. I think I know how most matches are going to go already, and I haven't been overly amazed for the last couple of Wrestlemania's, but I'm still looking forward to it a lot.
Anyway.....I found this dvd and book going cheap online:

The DVD is one of the worst things I've watched in a long time. It's just rubbish. It reminded me of an educational video they'd make you watch at school in like 1992. REALLY badly made. I haven't started the book yet, but I flicked through and it looks alright. It's about British wrestling and how it pretty much died.

My friend Gill is getting married and I got my invite a couple of days ago. I just wanted to show you how lovely the invitation was. I loved the wax stamp detail:

I can't eat 'Party Ring' biscuits, they have gelatin in, which is such a shame. But I think having a Party Ring cushion would totally make up for the lack of biccies!

People who know me in real life, will know that I'm NOT a cat person. Doggies are for me. But for some reason I love cats on clothes! Why? I have no idea. I've found these two cat dresses on Modcloth, they're a bit brilliant!
The big green teapot (no.4) is actually to sit on! I need my own house so bad.
How amazing are Tetris Leggings? They're quite expensive for leggings, but you don't see them like that every day!

I have serious knitting envy at the moment. I see all these pretty things to knit on Ravelry... but have zero time to knit them.
I'm working on a little knitted something, which you'll see in my next post, and i STILL have to sew up my mohair jumper. In an ideal world I wouldn't have to work, but would somehow have money to buy pretty yarn to make the following garments:

Oh pretty cardigans and jumpers... one day I will have time for you all, I promise.

ZELDA JEWELLERY! Why do I not already have Zelda jewellery? I must get some! There's quite a lot of it on Etsy.
I find lovely stuff on the Zara website all the time, but it's the one shop I forget to go in when I'm in town shopping. No.4 is very cute. I love anything lace at the moment. Zara's clothes sizes are odd to me, so it's best I try things on in store.

I've been a bad blogger lately. I haven't updated much. I've been working EVERY DAY for 2 weeks now. But after this week I have a bit of time off. I have so many crafts and so much baking to do in my time off.... so there will definitely be blog posts! Thanks for putting up with me.

It's hard to tell, but the skirt (no.3) is actually cable knit. I wear a plain black version of this to work all the time. I actually have 3 of them, people must think I never change my clothes. But this would fit in perfectly with the rest of my wardrobe.

Custard Cream foot stool anyone? I saw this in one of the Sunday magazines my mum gets. I love it! I need my own flat/house so much, so I can fill it with these amazing things! My parents would never be into biscuit themed furniture *sob sob*

Knitting Exhibition

On Wednesday I took a trip to Penrith in the Lake District. Me and a couple of friends went to see a knitting exhibition and had a lovely day!
WOW: wonder of wool and the art of knit and stitch at the Rheged Centre. Plenty of well known names in the knitting world and a great knitted animation by Max Alexander. This animation caused the old couple in front of us to complain to the poor boy on the ticket desk. ''There was all blood and eating body parts!'' They said. ''Yeh, but it's just wool!'' He said. They walked off in a huff. Silly couple.

Things in the shop

I found the 'Knitted Homes of Crime' by Freddie Robins particularly good. Each house had a story underneath about who lived in them and what crime had been committed. Lots of interesting murders and poisonings by sweet shop owners etc.

All in all, good exhibition. Well worth the £2.50 entrance fee!

Inspired by my friend Sam, who has Animal Friday's at work (they all wear an item of clothing with animals on, or animal related), I have decided to show my favourite animal photo of the week. Animals are amazing, I like them so much more than humans. I do not eat animals, or wear them, because they are my friends... and gosh, I wish this little bunny was my friend. HOW CUTE!

I love Fiona Hewitt's art work. I have a big tote bag with the same picture on as this cushion. I just love all the colours, I get a lot of compliments on the bag!
WHEN I get my own place, it has to happen one day... when I win the lotto, I will own this doormat (no. 5). Wouldn't it be a lovely welcome in to someones house.
It's hard to tell, but the lovely dress (no.2) is heart print. I love anything heart print, but the shape and style of this dress is so lovely. I have a Dorothy Perkins voucher.... I might just go and try it on.

I made and sold a load of these a couple of summers ago. They are a great accessory, whether you're in the nautical mood, or going for a Japanese school girl look. Little Men and Teapots!

I finally finished making the 'Little Man' (as I've been calling him for the last month). It's for a friends exhibition. He, my pal, has made a stop motion film and my little fella here is featuring in it! YAY! Hopefully I'll be able to show you the video/film after it's been shown at the gallery. I'm very much looking forward to the opening (which is on the 29th February at FACT in Liverpool). Here he is:

I was VERY proud of his little feet.

He has no head, as you can see, but all is explained in the film. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would to make. His little shoes have laces on too! It was a bit of a learning curve for me, having never made a suit or a shirt before, but I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I grabbed some great charity shop finds this week. A new teapot (been a while since I've found a good one) and a vintage jug. The teapot is a carousel teapot! I love it!

New knitting needle storage!

The jug is perfect for my knitting needles (if they all fit in. The picture is just a very small amount of them) and I love the design. It's much prettier than what I keep them in at the moment.

I've ordered a tripod for my camera, should arrive any day now, so I can show you all the clothes alterations I've been doing lately. It's very hard to show when you don't have anyone to take the photo for you, and I really dislike the photo in the mirror look that I usually have to do.

Just a quick yummy picture before I go for food. TEA BAG BICCIES!! I'm going to have a go at making these (a vegan version of course, dipped in dark chocolate) for my friends birthday party. Such a cute idea isn't it!?

I'm really in to blouses at the moment. I have a few nice ones. Can't wait for the weather to be a bit warmer as I don't like wearing them with TONES of other layers. Just a blouse and a cardigan will be perfect, but I'm wearing about 6 layers at the moment.... not a good look.

The teapot earrings are very cute, but I'd have to see them in real life. They're probably too big for my ears. I have little ears and only wear really small studs, but I'll check them out anyway.

I have a Topshop voucher that might be spent on the Birds of prey t-shirt. Hard to tell how long it is on the website though. But it's a bit brilliant isn't it!?

I've found a lot of lovely jewellery online this week. I wish I could buy some, but I've spent a bomb on opticians and the dentist over the last couple of days, wont be buying anything nice for another month!

I love the rocking horse t-shirt (no.6) from Topshop, but I do wish they'd stop making the best t-shirts cropped now. Some normal length ones would be nice please! I'm suffering with ''muffin top'' at the moment and cropped t-shirts only show that off.

Vintage Fabric and What I've Been Knitting

I took a trip to the Abakhan shop in Wales a couple of days ago. Despite the bad staff (well, there was one nice girl) I enjoyed it. I went with a list of what I needed, but I did treat myself a little bit too.
I'd just finished off these fingerless mittens.....

So I needed a new knitting project anyway. I'm going through a bit of a grunge faze again at the moment, so I really want a big, over sized mohair jumper. I saw some yarn (not real mohair, but I don't want real) for £2.50 a ball.... so I got 7! I've already cast on the 'Hannah' jumper from one of the Rowan books. I would usually be a size small, but I'm knitting the large size for extra slouch.
Sod's law happened though, and I got my first issue of Vogue Knitting magazine today. My mum got me a subscription for Christmas. It has a PERFECT mohair jumper pattern in it, but I've already knitted the back of the 'Hannah' jumper. Never mind, I might just have to knit two.

Staying in the knitted theme... I picked up these two candles a couple of days ago. One is a cable stitch candle and the other is probably meant to be a ball of string, but I'm calling it a ball of yarn...

My lovely friend Jane is a genius when it comes to sewing. And I'm very lucky that she's going to make me a couple of dresses, and maybe a little play suit out of some vintage fabrics I've found at a charity shop:

Another friend of mine has an exhibition coming up next month. He's asked me to help out and make a little man in a suit out of fabric. SUITS ARE NOT EASY TO MAKE, I know this now! Here's my prototype. I purchased the fabrics I need, and I have a couple of changes to make, but I'm ready to start the actual piece tomorrow night. EEP!

I've turned into a right grunger lately. Slouchy jumpers, sometimes over dresses, and boots seem to be my wardrobe staples at the moment. I think I'd like this unicorn jumper (no.1) in a bigger size than I'd normally wear, for extra slouch.
The stitch me up bag (no.3) would be an excellent craft bag, but do I need another? Yes, I think I do.
I can never stick to wearing a watch, I've tried my best. But this one (no.5) is so pretty.
As for the red dress, I don't know which I like more, the dress or the expression on the models face!?

Hello everyone! I've been a bit AWOL lately! Sorry! My life has been all over the place, but I'm getting on with it now. Onwards and upwards!

For those who know me in real life, I have a chocolate bourbon keyring on my car keys (thanks bro!) and I think it's the best thing ever. It looks so real! I was lucky enough to get this kit for Xmas and make some custard creams to go with it! YAAAAAAY! It's by 'Crafty Nana' and the only fault I have is that the glue just wouldn't work. I couldn't get any out the tube.... in fact I'm pretty sure there wasn't any IN the tube, so I used my own glue. Other than that though, totally happy with it, and it was an afternoon of fun!

We did secret Santa at work and I got the HELLO KITTY GLITTER LAMP! I was absolutely shocked and very pleased with this. The girl who got it for me, Michelle, must know me so well. I have actually used it every day since then (it's on right now!)

No. 2 is hard to see in this picture, but it's a lovely blouse with little sausage dogs all over it! How cute? It's from Matalan (I hardly ever find anything good in there), I might just pop along and pick one up! It'll do for work.
I really love No.3 (good old Topshop), but I do need to see it in real life first, it looks like it could be really short. 4&5 are a couple of cute brooches I came across on Folksy. The cat really reminds me of my friend Eleanor. I don't mean it looks like her, but she draws cats in the same style and has loads of similar things like this round her house.

Free Cross Stitch / Knitting chart

I have been meaning to put this up for nearly 2 years now.... but here it is!

My brother got married in May 2010. I saw a cross stitch design somewhere, that I really liked, but I changed quite a lot of it to make it prettier and more personal.
Here is the finished cross stitch (which I then framed) and underneath is the pattern/chart that I made. You can use it for whatever you want, I don't mind at all. I think it can be used for pretty much anything: cross stitch, knitting, crochet. Charts are charts! Enjoy!
